Our Review of Palomar
During our recent cruise on the Norwegian Prima, we had the chance to dine at Palomar, Norwegian's premiere Mediterranean restaurant. The atmosphere was upscale, yet intimate, offering both indoor and outdoor seating options.
The outdoor seating is located near the pool, which may not be ideal for everyone, so we suggest choosing the indoor seating. There, you can enjoy the ambiance of the open-concept kitchen, and it's generally a quieter, more relaxed dining experience.
Palomar's bar stood out with a more extensive wine list than other restaurants on the ship, a plus for those who appreciate a wide range of selections. The service was attentive and efficient, adding to the overall positive dining experience.
The standout dishes were undoubtedly the seafood. In particular, the grilled octopus was tender and rich in flavor, and the Dover sole was light, fresh, and delicately lemony. These dishes exemplify Palomar's dedication to creating authentic Mediterranean cuisine using the freshest ingredients. While seafood is Palomar's specialty, it's important to note that the restaurant also caters wonderfully to non-seafood eaters.
Which Ships Have Palomar?
Currently, Palomar is available on Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva, and Norwegian Aqua. Each ship offers a distinct version of the Palomar experience, tailored to its unique ambiance and guest preferences.
Conclusion
Palomar stands out as a culinary highlight on Norwegian Cruise Line ships, offering a diverse and exquisite dining experience. Whether you are craving seafood or a hearty steak, Palomar's a la carte menu caters to a range of palates. The attention to detail in every dish, combined with the elegant ambiance of the restaurant, makes it a must-visit for those seeking a special dining experience while cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line.
