Norwegian Breakaway Has Officially Entered Dry Dock in Brest, France for New Enhancements

The Norwegian Breakaway has docked in Brest, Bretagne for a transformative three-week dry dock that began on February 19, 2025, following its trans-Atlantic voyage from Miami. This marks a significant refurbishment phase for the Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, aiming to enhance the guest experience as it prepares to resume its services on March 14, 2025, sailing from Southampton to Barcelona.

What's New on Norwegian Breakaway

As part of its refurbishment, the Breakaway is introducing several exciting features that promise to elevate the cruising experience for all guests:

Silver Screen Bistro: Replacing the Spiegel Tent, this new dining venue offers a unique combination of movies and meals. Guests can watch popular films in comfort with oversized recliners and retractable tables, enjoying a menu of easy-to-share dishes inspired by the Food Republic.

Horizon Park: Previously debuted on the Norwegian Bliss, this outdoor space offers stunning 360° ocean views and serves as a central spot for live music and entertainment, enhancing the ship's community feel and providing a picturesque setting for unforgettable moments.

The Stadium: This new addition focuses on family entertainment, offering free outdoor activities and games. It's an ideal place for families to have fun together and enjoy active, outdoor moments.

Expanded Dining and Relaxation Areas

In addition to entertainment upgrades, the Breakaway is expanding several of its dining and leisure areas:

  • Cagney’s Steakhouse: Expanding into the space formerly occupied by Moderno Churrascaria, this steakhouse will offer a wider selection of steaks and gourmet dishes. See the updated Cagney’s Menu.

  • Vibe Beach Club and The Haven Sundeck: These areas will feature more seating and new cabanas, providing extra comfort and privacy for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

  • Palomar: Taking over the space of the former Ocean Blue, this new restaurant concept will diversify the ship's food offerings. See the new Palomar Menu.

Looking Forward

After the upgrades, the Norwegian Breakaway will begin a series of Mediterranean cruises, offering nine to eleven-night trips that visit beautiful locations in Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Croatia, and more. Later in the year, the ship will head back to North America for a winter season sailing from New York City to the Caribbean, Florida, and the Bahamas.

These upgrades reflect Norwegian Cruise Line's commitment to providing top-notch experiences on the sea. With these improvements, the Breakaway is set to offer guests an even more enjoyable and memorable cruising experience.
