Weekend Cruises in the Bahamas

Weekend Cruises in the Bahamas

Port Miami becomes a busy place each and every weekend of the year with a variety of different ships and itinerary options. One of the regulars is the Norwegian Sky – built in 1999 and formerly known as Pride of Aloha – this 2,004 passenger ship is an extension to the Miami nightlife. This ship underwent a massive three week dry dock with a complete bow to stern renovation in March 2019 and mainly services weekend cruises in the bahamas from Miami.

These weekend cruises to the bahamas set sail on Fridays at 4pm, and returns back to reality on Monday at 7am, making this a non-stop party for all. These itineraries are great for the working professional because you can take a half day on Friday and go straight to work on Monday, even though you may regret that decision by 3pm Monday!

Destinations (varies by weekend)
Nassau, Bahamas – 8AM-5PM
Key West, FL – 8AM-3PM
Great Stirrup Cay – 8AM-5PM

Favorite Place on Board

Spinnaker Lounge
During the day this lounge and bar doubles as the observation deck with panoramic views off the front of the ship. There is also a wraparound deck, the frontmost outdoor public area on the ship, a great spot to watch the sunset! This was our favorite area of the ship.

FREESTYLE TIP – This place is empty 95% of the time. Great to get away from the crowds and no lines at the bar!!

Vacation Highlights
The weekend we were aboard, we went to Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay. In Nassau, we booked an excursion to the Atlantis Resort – the transportation to and from the ship was included. At the resort there is a huge aquarium, water park, and extensive beaches.
