There’s no better time to enjoy the healing benefits of a spa treatment than when you’re on a cruise, especially in the Thermal Suite Norwegian Cruise Line. We booked a spa stateroom onboard the Norwegian Breakaway during our Western Caribbean itinerary from Miami, FL stopping in Roatan, Harvest Caye, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. Our room came with access to the Mandara Spa Thermal Suite along with luxury Bvlgari toiletries and bathrobes. We were on deck 14 in stateroom 14136, next to the Haven Spa Suites. Just a short walk up the stairs to the spa area. At first we were skeptical at how much we would enjoy or use the Thermal Suite onboard, however it added immense value to our vacation and relaxation. On the first day of the sailing we were given a tour of thermal suite facilities and an overview of other spa services that are offered onboard. We decided that the hot stone massage was too nice to pass up, we booked it for later that evening.
FREESTYLE TIP – If you book the massage on the first day, they include an extra 15 minutes onto the service.
After our massage, we spent the rest of the evening in the Thermal Suite, and what a way to start the vacation!
The Thermal Suite opens at disembarkment and is open from 8AM-10PM daily. We found the least crowded times were at night after 7pm and during ports of call, we were two of six people at some points. The Thermal Suite is also great because you have the ability to be inside a pool without having to venture out onto the pool deck in the heat with the crowds. Thermal Suite passes can be purchased at a discount prior to boarding – the cost is $199 / per person for a 7 night cruise and well worth it, or included in Spa category rooms, like we had. The Thermal Suite is located on Deck 15 Forward and has the only indoor view out of the front of the ship – best view ever, was like our own observation lounge!
FREESTYLE TIP – Before your trip, make sure you have a nice selection of music downloaded to your phone to listen to with a pair of headphones while in Thermal Suite – great way to relax and take a nap.
After this incredible experience we will always make sure we have access to the Thermal Suites onboard Norwegian Cruise Line! Below are some photos of the Thermal Suite onboard the Norwegian Breakaway – May 2019.
