Our recent cruise adventure took us through the Western Caribbean aboard the Celebrity Ascent, where we were assigned to an Inside Stateroom, Cabin 11300, situated at the ship's aft. This cozy retreat became our sanctuary, offering comfort and convenience throughout our journey.

Interior Cabin Room Layout and Features

Upon entering our cabin, we were pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness, with around 180 square feet of living space. Despite our initial concerns about potential ship movement due to the cabin's aft location, we experienced smooth sailing with little to no disturbance.

The cabin's storage solutions were a highlight, accommodating our belongings with ease. It featured two closets—one for hanging clothes and another with drawers and shelves, including a safe for valuables. A dresser with additional drawers and a mini-fridge provided even more storage space. The inclusion of a comfortable sofa and a desk with a chair made the room feel like a home away from home. The desk was equipped with a charger organizer, eliminating the usual tangle of cords, while an outlet and USB port were thoughtfully placed next to the bed for convenience.

Our luggage storage needs were well met, as our suitcases easily fit under the bed, freeing up more space in the room. This arrangement allowed us to unpack and organize our belongings with minimal fuss. Our packing cubes found their perfect spots in the drawers and on the shelves, keeping everything neat and accessible.

The bathroom was spacious, featuring a square glass shower enclosure that offered more room than the standard round ones. Ample shelving, a drawer with a hairdryer, and additional storage under the sink made it easy to keep our toiletries organized.

A notable convenience was the cabin's thermostat, integrated with all light controls, allowing for seamless adjustment of the room's temperature and lighting. The bed provided comfort and relaxation, enhanced by two soft bathrobes. For entertainment, a large TV with free movies, a navigation channel, and about 20 standard TV channels kept us engaged during our downtime.

Pros & Cons of an Interior Cabin on Celebrity Ascent

Our stay in Cabin 11300 was characterized by comfort, ample storage, and tranquility. The thoughtful amenities, from the efficient storage solutions to the adjustable thermostat and entertainment options, contributed to a highly enjoyable stay.

However, we did face the minor inconvenience of the cabin's distance from the aft elevator lobby. While it did not significantly affect our overall experience, it's a factor worth considering for those who prefer closer proximity to the ship's main areas.

Booking Process and Room Assignment

We opted for a "guarantee room" when booking our cruise, meaning we were automatically assigned to Cabin 11300 about 45 days prior to sailing. This approach can be a bit of a gamble, as you don't have control over the specific room you'll receive, but in our case, it worked out wonderfully, landing us a fantastic stateroom that met all our needs.

Conclusion

Cabin 11300 on the Celebrity Ascent provided an excellent base for our Western Caribbean exploration. Despite the slight drawback of its location relative to the aft elevator lobby, the cabin's comfortable and well-equipped space, combined with thoughtful features and efficient storage solutions, made for a memorable and enjoyable cruising experience. It stands as a solid choice for travelers looking for a comfortable, feature-rich accommodation on their next cruise adventure.
